The speculation emerged after the last race in Turkey 11 days ago that Schumacher might be considering his future after admitting "the greatest joy is gone now."
The seven-time world champion was obviously at times lower after his plans fell into disarray, walking home at 12 when it became clear during the early stages of the weekend finishing high was on the cards with Mercedes .
Given Schumacher was more qualified by team-mate Nico Rosberg in the first four grands prix this season and comfortably beaten by his fellow Germans in the last two races, Schumacher is not surprising there was joy in Turkey.
But those feelings disappeared as he said: "My comment was on the march.
"Having a car that can be the fifth or sixth, and not be there obviously was not the greatest pleasure.
"I liked the context of this race with all the advancements and the shares held, but the result certainly did not like.
"But now my mood is not unlike any other event. If you think something has changed in me, no. This is certainly not the case.
"I have no problem and no problem with what comes before me now."
Despite being one of the most prominent personalities in F1, claims 42-year-old is grateful to still be in the spotlight.
"In a way I should take it (the reaction) as a compliment, and honored him guys (the media) still have much interest in me," added Schumacher.
"Somehow, we both live by it. Sports are feelings that go up and down at times.
"I am more than sure I'll have the upper hand at the end. So I'm not worried.
"You must think positively, and that's what I'm doing. Apparently, because I have goals and my way of dealing with things like that do not see this.
"Naturally, I'd rather not have unnecessary criticism, but that's part of our lives.
"I've been at this so often and know that after every storm the sun always rises."
But looking beyond his current contract expires at the end of next season, Schumacher was contemptuous.
"I do not think it really necessary to think about that now," said Schumacher.
"I do not know if I really want to do this or not. Let's do things step by step."
