AS Roma striker Luca Toni in a hurry to get fit enough to play for AC Milan this weekend.
Winner of the World Cup was an injury for more than a month and played only four matches since his arrival from Rome Bayern Monaco transfer window in January.
Speaking to the Corriere dello Sport, Toni is confident he can win over Roma fans who have not seen the best of Italian because of his injury layoff.
He said. "The fans keep asking me to score All I can do is hope
"At the moment I'm working hard to find their form and fitness. My goal is to play a good game on Saturday, and I hope the team can do the same thing.
"I feel good, and will join my teammates for a decent drive in the coming days,"
Roma needs a win against Milan on Saturday to maintain pressure on league leaders Inter Milan, who will assume Genoa on Sunday.
Mexes could join the Rossoneri at the end of the season on a free transfer if he fails to conclude a contract extension with Roma.
A new agreement is on the table to the center of the French defense, but it seems stalled contract negotiations.
"If Mexes not renew his contract with Roma, we are interested in the player," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 28-year-old joined Roma from Auxerre in 2004 and has been identified as a possible replacement for the Milan defender Alessandro Nesta, whose contract also expires in the summer.
AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed concerns that the loan signing David Beckham can not be fit before tomorrow's match at Roma.
The England midfielder is expected to make his debut in Serie A after making his first appearance in a friendly match in midweek against Hamburg in Dubai.
The Rossoneri expecting great things from Beckham, trying to close the gap on Serie A leaders Inter Milan, who are nine points ahead in the standings.
The future looks Beckham has dominated the build-up in the game at the Stadio Olimpico, but Ancelotti announced that the star of the Los Angeles Galaxy will not start.
"If at the beginning of this week's game against Hamburg, which was struggling after half an hour seemed to play only because his leg hurt,''said Ancelotti.
"I think he is physically fit to play for an hour, but that does not mean that I would immediately against Rome.
"It would be a gamble.''
Milano's face, hoping to pick up re-form on the road.
Ancelotti's side have not won on their travels since their 1-0 win at Atalanta, 26 October.
Since then, the Rossoneri collected only two draws in four away games.
Ancelotti is hoping that changes when it is set to play the star-studded line-up with the quarterback Andrea Pirlo will serve as Brazil's attacking trio of Ronaldinho, Kaka and Alexandre Pato.
