Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa was pushed into the pot after breaking his right collarbone in his decline in the French Grand Prix.
Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa had a plate inserted in his right collarbone after breaking into her in his fall in Sunday's French Grand Prix.
The Spaniard injured after 25 years of clashes with the Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli as the pair battled for second place at Le Mans, the Italian will receive a ride-through in the wake of the incident.
The injury is a huge blow to Pedrosa, who last month was removed in the left collarbone he broke in practice, the Japanese Grand Prix last October, when it caused inconvenience in the 2011 season opener in Qatar.
The pain caused by plate means Pedrosa, 125cc World Champion twice in time, do not repeat the process with the current injury. However, after weighing his options, he underwent surgery on Wednesday.
Spanish has been in great form this season, taking a win and tried in Portugal, but his fall in France left him 17 points behind champion Jorge Lorenzo at the top of the standings.
Pedrosa should begin his rehabilitation next week, but it is still doubtful for the home Grand Prix in Barcelona on June 5
Repsol Honda statement read: "After considering its options for a few days and talk more with his doctors decided to Dani Pedrosa undergo surgery to repair his broken right collarbone, the result of the accident he suffered in Grand Prix of France.
"Dani has trusted again in surgeon Dr. Joaquim CasaƱas and Dr. Cesar Garcia-Madrid, the same medical team at the Barcelona Teknon Medical Center, who performed the operation on 6 April.
"At that time they were removed from the hard ground of the subclavian artery on the left clavicle.
"In today's [Wednesday] after completing at noon, and the titanium plate was added to strengthen the fractured right clavicle.
"After medical examinations, Repsol Honda rider to be discharged from hospital next week and is expected to begin rehabilitation passive.
"Dani's participation in the Catalunya Grand Prix, is uncertain."
